General AU information
Jan. 28th, 2016 11:24 am-Technically the "older" experiment. Created first by a team of scientists as an anti-human weapon. Created as a monster with an artificial soul because it was believed this would grant him the best chance of harnessing or countering determination.
-The experiments to grant him his powers proved rather less predictable when used on a "live" subject, however, and the end result nearly killed him and left him with 1 HP. All efforts at healing and increasing his HP proved ineffective. His use in a combat situation was thus deemed compromised.
-Rather than scrap him and what successes they had managed to earn, the scientists decided to refine the process used in Sans-Serif's creation to make another monster, intended to act as a helper and protector to him.
-This new monster was officially dubbed the "Sans-Serif Support System", but soon came to be known simply as "S-4" for the sake of expediency.
-Between the two of them, Sans-Serif is generally more passive, and relies on the scientists and S-4 for guidance and direction in day-to-day functions. It is unknown if this is due to persistent physical weakness or the weakness in his soul. The answer is probably some combination.
-However, he does demonstrate rather more initiative with S-4 present, so S-4's creation was deemed a success.
-Dr. Gaster, while still the Royal Scientist at this point, is busy involved in maintaining and upgrading the CORE for the early phases of the experiment. While initially in favor of the project, he has increasing reservations with how the development of the two is proceeding. When the time and opportunity present themselves, he tries to guide them with a more even hand, with the goal being of improving their overall independence, self-awareness, and emotional maturity. It's a process who's success depends on the day.
-He provided both the marrow samples and sample fragments of his soul to fuel their creation. As such, much as he tries to stay detached, Gaster does regard them somewhat as his children.
